Judge Ms Andrea Maret

Andrea Maret

I have been breeding Bernese Mountain Dogs under the kennel name "de Marais Champagne" since 1999. My goal is to improve the breed in health and in structure. I have bred several show champions. In 2023 Hermès de Marais Champagne was Best Veteran at Crufts and Veteran World Winner 2023 in Geneva. Some of "Marais Champagne" dogs are or were also therapy and rescue dogs. For the past 20 years, my Bernese, and now my Scottish Terrier Sansa, are part of the regional government education program "Prevent a bite". I teach kids the correct behavior and how to interact with dogs. I have been successful in regulary producing the club champion winner - a dog who passed the breeding test and who makes the most points on all shows in Switzerland in 1 year. During the last 3 years at the Swiss Specialty Show (KBS) my male Hermès de Marais Champagne was Best Male.

In addition to my breeding program, I am very active in the Bernese Mountain Dog Club of Switzerland. I have served as the president of the breeding committee since 2005 to October 2021 and was also a member of the central committe (Board). I am the club contact for the health committee, and we collaborate and work with scientists in their search to improve the qualitiy and health for the breed. Since mars 2022 I am the president of the Bernerse Mountain Dog Club of Switzerland and I was also in the organisation for the 1th event of the World Union of Bernese Mountain Dogs.

I am a certfied FCI judge for Bernese Mountain Dogs, Appenzeller cattle dogs, Great Swiss Mountain Dog, Entlebucher cattledogs and for all other breeds from the FCI Group 2. I also passed the exam for Scottish Terrier and I am student for other Terrier breeds. I have judged multiple international shows in Switzerland, Specialty in Switzerland, Lithuania, Germany, Austria, France, Slovakia, Holland, Canada, Italy, Denmark, Romania and Hungary. I am very happy to come to Australia, and looking forward to see you all with your lovely dogs.

Andrea.
